Great food and really fast service at River Village. I use this regularly for carry-out food but have also eaten there and have enjoyed the atmosphere and décor. The food is very good quality and is always hot and fresh. Prices are very reasonable with a Chinese meal costing little more than a fish supper. Happy to be a regular! View all feedback.
What Corinna Reed doesn't like about New River Village:
Took 1h30 delivery. Food turned up warm not hot Salt and chilli chicken (the chicken was rock hard) hardly any onions, peppers or chilli. The curry sauce was like hard jelly not a runny consistency. My daughter even commented ' 'what is this? ' ' it 's that bad Will not order again Total waste of £20 View all feedback.
Can only assume the great reviews are family or friends. 2 mains and spring rolls, well over £20. Chips were soggy, very little chicken in the chicken fried rice and the sweet and sour just not very good. Would have been as well getting a supermarket equivalent.
I have ordered takeout from this restaurant multiple times and it never fails to impress. The delivery is fast, and the food always tastes delicious. I highly recommend it.
We ordered lemon chicken on March 4th. When it arrived, the chicken was cold and dry. It was a disappointing experience. Upon calling the restaurant to address the issue, we were met with rude and unacceptable behavior. After returning the food and questioning the quality, we were told that even the staff wouldn't eat it. Despite receiving an apology for the bad attitude, we have had negative experiences with this restaurant before and will not be returning. It's a shame to have to say that.
Ordered a chinese with my friends paid for it over the phone wasn’t cheep and it didn’t even turn up tried to phone all phone calls ignored, would 100% not recommend, foods a bit bangin but
Even though we've had a few negative experiences in the past, we made the decision last week to order from New River Village. We ordered sweet and sour chicken for our nephew, but unfortunately, the sauce was so thick that we couldn't even pour it out. It was a disgusting mess and our nephew refused to eat it. We didn't bother calling to complain because the food has consistently been bad. It's a shame because this used to be our favorite Chinese restaurant, but we definitely won't be going back.
