Nice location overlooking the castle but not enough waiting staff. Waited an age. Need more staff here!!

Ducay is a very modern looking bar with bright lighting and light coloured furniture but don’t let that put you off. This is a very good traditional local bar that is clearly very popular. Along with the beer it serves superb pintxos, and service was very good.

We spent the night in Olite as we were heading south. Nice location in the plaza, they dont allow dogs so we sat outside, which was cold in January. We ordered revuelto con jamon y setas, which is scrambled eggs with ham and mushrooms but we were served ham and mushrooms with 2 fried eggs on top. It tasted good and we did not bother to complain but i dont think it was a proper revuelto. The young girl behind the bar was very happy and smiling, but the older one was miserable when i asked for the bill.

The portions are quite generous and the food is of average quality. I had chicken stuffed with ham and cheese which was good. My wife had cod which was very salty. It is the first restaurant in Spain that we have been to on this trip that had a menu in English which was useful. However, they did not speak any English and we had to use a translation app to get a wine list and a jug of water. We sat outside in the square and were the only people eating.

Driving from central France to Valencia, we stopped off for a night in Olite, a lovely town we have visited before. Bar Ducay sits on Plaza Carlos III in the old town; it's a prime location for watching the world go by and luckily for us weary travellers it has an extensive menu of tapas, raciones, salads and bocadillos. We chose goats cheese salad, patatas bravas and huevos Navarra (a huge plateful of 2 fried eggs, 3 sausages, fries and ham). All freshly prepared and served very quickly. With 3 cañas of cerveza tostada, the bill was a very reasonable 34 euro. Service was helpful, fast and friendly. Would happily go again.
