Unfortunately, the peppered carp was a bit fatty and the potato salad lacked seasoning. Tastes vary. The service was friendly and pleasant.
Yes, it often takes a bit longer, and you definitely won't be finished in an hour. But you'll be rewarded with a beautiful, historic atmosphere, good Franconian wines, excellent carp (both poached and baked), catfish, delicious endive and potato salad (half and half), outstanding liver dumpling soup, etc. If you want something quick with kids, you're better off getting a fish and chips at McDonald's or going to the North Sea. It's wonderful that places like this still exist.
Unfortunately, my carp was very salty. The potatoes were also inedible. The liver dumpling soup was also very salty. We would have appreciated it if our feedback had been addressed. Very disappointing...
A lovely little quaint restaurant, but we had carp there that was the worst we've ever had. Next time we'd rather go back to the Oberle fish farm in Kosbach, to Reck in Möhrendorf, or to Lunz in Rezelsdorf! The smallest carp cost €19 – outrageous for that quality! Never again.
Truly one of the best peppered carp I've ever eaten. There were three of us on a Tuesday evening. The place was packed – and rightly so! Luckily, we had a reservation. A single server ran the entire place single-handedly. Always friendly, hardly any wait, and incredibly delicious. I wouldn't have expected to find such good carp in Erlangen. I'll definitely be back.
