But you'll be rewarded with a beautiful, historic atmosphere, good Franconian wines, excellent carp (both poached and baked), catfish, delicious endive and potato salad (half and half), outstanding liver dumpling soup, etc. If you want something quick with kids, you're better off getting a fish and chips at McDonald's or going to the North Sea. It's wonderful that places like this still exist.

Next time we'd rather go back to the Oberle fish farm in Kosbach, to Reck in Möhrendorf, or to Lunz in Rezelsdorf! The smallest carp cost €19 – outrageous for that quality! Never again.

Luckily, we had a reservation. A single server ran the entire place single-handedly. Always friendly, hardly any wait, and incredibly delicious. I wouldn't have expected to find such good carp in Erlangen. I'll definitely be back.
