What John Westerman likes about Funderburk's Gas D:
I stopped for fuel at this small town. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was also a diner so I ordered a hamburger for a late lunch. The meal was old school and very tasty. It is a super small cafe attached to the convenience store. They also serve fresh brewed sweet and unsweet tea. It was a nice break from driving. I marked this spot to stop again one day. Great food, some unusual items such as the deep fried grilled cheese
Little diner in a gas station. Good food and friendly service.
Great little convenient store diner! Prices vs. quality was wonderful. Oh, and for a northern restaurant, the sweet ice tea was pert good!

read moreThis was definitely the most popular place in town. Food wasn’t bad but my tenderloin was dry as was my wife’s burger.
