Just made our first visit to this cute little dinner food and service was great couldn't ask for better. The only advice I would have to say is to work on the dacor I understand it's an old café but upkeep could use attention little ruff but would absolutely and will be going again View all feedback.
What Becky gay doesn't like about A1 Diner In Gard:
Finally got to stop. Dad got haddock sandwich which he did not like at all. Fish looked and smelled more like pollock. Chilli was mostly beans. Good spice not much meat. Waitress was great View all feedback.
If you are driving north or south between downeast and Portland, this is absolutely the best place to get breakfast or lunch. Quick, quality food with impressive range of options. Friendly staff in a classic diner car with booth or bar seating. Good reason to take backroads instead of 295/95. Been stopping here for a few years now and have never been disappointed.
Listen these folks are awesome !! The food is great !!! My only complaint is the place could use a deep clean.
Quaint little old school diner with new school flavor! We had the reuban with horseradish and grilled turkey sandwich with brie and apple butter and arugula. I cannot say better things about the great food, the dessert was spectacular and to top it off the service was superb as well 100/10
Google says the A1 is open on Sunday but it was closed we I arrived, no dign or notice
Stopped in expecting an ordinary dinner experience--but we were pleasantly surprised by how sophisticated and delicious the food was! Service was great. Good beer selection. My only complaint is that we were too full to try one of the yummy dessert offerings!
