Love coming to this pub! a little gem slightly hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the Epsom High Street, a short walk away though. Lovely warm atmosphere, gorgeous garden (currently waiting for some warmer days to get a little more busy! , very friendly staff and the new management tending the guests in a very caring manner. The new food menu rolled out recently rather simple but a good classic comfort pub foo... View all feedback.
What MaxHannibal doesn't like about Barley Mow Epsom:
A trip to the dentist for double root canal work is a more cheerful and less expensive experience than a visit here. Not sure why the manager and most of the staff are in the hospitality business. I imagine Dick Turpin never smiled behind his mask but at least he engaged with his victims as he relieved them of their cash. View all feedback.
God, where do I start? in the chef right, eating is terrible. Eg.frozen scampi chips n peas as a special..14.75 frozen fish n chips 16 quid...pie was ekelnd, burger was nasty. whole meal a joke..6 people,Did about 200 quid, staff not much cop either. trust me, don't go... this terrible
Beautiful traditional pub and a few pints by london pride and hophead, perfect Sunday afternoon . the ale was on the square. the roast beef was absolutely delicious. it is not local for us, but would definitely make the trip again as it has a nice atmosphere. nice to get a decent pint and homecooked eating. Pity that we do not live closer, hope to appreciate the locals, have a decent pub with good beer and eat and use it. look forward to the next time we are in epsom.
We visited on Saturday afternoon as a family group of eight (plus dog). the barley mow is an innocent, old-fashioned and friendly pub with good beer, which I would make my natives if I lived near. my only weight was the eating portion that was really stingy on the chips. Why are so many pubs just ten pence on chips to cost yourself a TripAdvisor star in this process?
Great discovery. good traditional public house served excellent meals. the dishes were hot, beautifully presented and extremely tasty. never better, maybe big nuts) only recommended would I encourage the ladies behind the bar to smile. it makes such an instant. welcome.
This is the pub you have been looking for historic, comfortable, welcoming, delightful, and serving the best beers in the world Fullers London Pride and ESB. Ticket away in Epsom you will find open fires, beer garden, and a pleasant atmosphere I would...like to return very soon !
