What Robert P dislikes about Malena's Cafe:
In town for work. Cinco de Mayo gotta get Mexican food. We went here because of the reviews. TBH it's not bad but not sure I would go back. The service was fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable. Think Cafe Rio or Costa Vida. Bu the food is bland not a hint of spice. Don't get me wrong I am not a fiery food kinda guy but I need a little bit more spice in my Mexican food. Whether you're driving through Ephraim or just nearby, you shouldn't miss this hidden gem of a restaurant. This small, family-owned establishment is the best place to eat in all of Sanpete County. Everything they serve is fresh, ensuring a delicious meal every time. If you visit at the right moment, you might even catch José or his wife Malena making tortillas right before your eyes. I absolutely love her sweet pork burrito, but I was recently impressed by her raspberry chip chicken. José and his staff are always friendly and professional, ready to accommodate any requests you may have.

This place is even better than Cafe Rio! I absolutely love the pulled pork and salsa. Whether you prefer a quick pickup or want to sit down and enjoy the ambiance, it’s a great spot to relax with friends or family. It’s clean and has a nice atmosphere.

I ordered the sweet pork, but it turned out to be a bit too sweet for my taste. Next time, I plan to try the pork chili verde, Al Pastor, or carnitas instead. The burrito was massive; I was taken aback by the generous portion of pork, and then she added even more! All burritos are generously smothered without any extra charge. I think this is one of those places where it pays off to discover which ingredients you genuinely enjoy and to stick with those.
