The chef and his wife must run this place from the begining of times. Even they dont know a word in english we got along. Great home made wine! Delicious food! Good prices. Family atmosfere.

I loved this place. Understand that it is a small local place that is not about frills and that it is for locals and for those travellers that are seeking something more authentic. A great experience, welcoming service from a couple who have run this place for decades. Limited english but who cares in a place like this, they make it work. Quite simply, for me this was a breathe of real, fresh air. Prices are very reasonable. Do not come here if you require a red carpet and an ego boost. Do come here if you want to be fed and watered in a friendly local personable way. A must if you like strong home made wine with your meal :

I read google reviews and thought i have to go there so my expectations were very high. I can say they were completely met. lovely food, great prices, and when we were done we spent half an hour just talking and enjoying some Limoncello that the owner made. of course you have to speak italian for that.

This is the most Sicilian restaurant I've been to in Sicily: if you look for some warm family-like atmosphere, don't hesitate to go there! More than reasonable prices, tasty food, simple, but pleasant interior, very friendly and caring service (a family restaurant, the loveliest couple I've ever met , Grotta Azzura feels like home with the only exception: noone will cook the best home made fresh pasta at home for you : Don't miss this place, it's a must for travellers who seek authentic experiences!

A very, *very* charming experience. Unique. Delicious. Come here for a home cooked Siclian meal served by the most lovely elderly couple. We were absolutely charmed.
