The Pickled Herring - ENGLISHTOWN

We went for dinner this past Saturday night and could not have been more thrilled with the entire experience. The service was great (thank you, Linda), the restaurant was clean and smelled delicious, and the food was outstanding. The pickles were fresh and had the perfect snap; the pastrami was tasty, juicy, lean and had not a hint of gristle, and the rye bread was sheer perfection. Oh, and the potato pancake was simply divine golden and warm on the inside, crunchy and hot on the outside. The portions were generous (we both took food home), too. Special shout out to Mindy for all she did/does she made us feel like mishpuchah (family). We can't want to go back (and we will, soon)!

Corned Beef and Pastrami combo sandwich was excellent, piled high, warmed to the perfect eating temperature, with cole slaw and thousand island dressing. Try the house, round cut potato fries, better than the frozen standard. Wide range of deli available for take out or catering. Go with friends or family, you'll have a great time.

The Smoky Joe (with belly lox instead of nova) was fantastic! My husband really enjoyed the chopped liver and pastrami sandwich. We also liked the derma. We'll definitely be back!

The portions at this Jewish deli were generous, and the service was excellent. The food was fresh and flavorful. The only downside was that the French fries seemed to be cooked in old oil or lacked freshness. Aside from that, it’s a fantastic place to dine.

We ordered takeout and everything was a solid 10/10. This is an authentic kosher-style deli that brings back memories of Brooklyn. We’ve dined in before, and everything was perfect, but we were a bit concerned about ordering takeout. There was no need for worry, as everything was neatly wrapped and all the condiments and extras were included. The corned beef on the club sandwich was delicious and cooked to perfection, and the Reuben was equally fantastic. The toasted mushroom barley and derma were incredibly tasty as well. And let me tell you, the matzo ball soup tasted authentic and homemade. I highly recommend this place and look forward to being a returning customer.
