On t... read more This place is usually very busy. The view is IMHO better and even more impressive than in the lower locations and probably not that many bus tour visitors. On the other hand prices climb with the altitude and I even heard rumors about the need for lunch reservations ! Food was tasty and well prepared for a ski restaurant. Service very friendly, fast and good. We also enjoyed the view and good setting on the terrace. Inside was classy alpine style but charming and in a cosy way. Thumbs up and definitely a good place for a bite or just to relax !

The view from there is great, but that can be had for free; the food is for the tourists and is nothing special.If you are visiting the mountain during the winter season, whether via the cable car or on skis, then stop and eat here (at 2430 metres) instead. You will find yourself in a warm and cosy dining room, in the traditional Swiss wood panelled style with plenty of space. Excellent filling food in generous portions, cooked to order and presented in the way that would be expected in a decent restaurant - not just thrown onto the plate. The service is good and attentive, even at busy times. There are traditional Swiss dishes such as rösti and fondue, as well as the usual burgers and schnitzels, and of course an excellent range of drinks.A children's menu, desserts and vegetarian dishes (if you really must, in this meat loving country) are of course available.There is live music (traditional Swiss of course) sometimes, great fun to listen to while eating. If you can stand the cold then there is even an outside terrace.Better food, more choice and a wonderful ambience compared to the top of the mountain, so come here and give Stand a try instead!
