Kanakawa Japanese Restaurant - Engadine

Have been regularly visiting the Kanakawa restaurant in Caringbah for over 15 years, very excited to hear they were opening in Engadine. Have gone more than 20 times and never been disappointed. Always fresh delicious food. Staff are awesome and owners lovely. Very accommodating.

The food was fresh, delicious and good sized portions. Reasonably priced with attentive staff. BYO which makes it easy and inexpensive. We had the chilli pork, and teriyaki chicken both of which were delicious. They had a good range of meals and we had a pescatarian who was very happy with the options available. They are about to start a Korean BBQ option which I suspect will be worth a try.

Can make it better myself. Veggie Udon noodle; try to spot the 2 whole veggie pieces amongst the noodles, Veggie bimibab: mainly (cold) rice and grated carrot. Rice for the beef teriyaki was cold too. Obviously after maximum profit out of minimum effort. We won't be back.

I have wanted to try this restaurant for some time and finally got my wife to agree to go fir Valentines day. Was not at all disappointed and, in fact, very pleased. All food we had was great so we will return. And service was fairly quick and friendly.

We went to this restaurant without a booking but were given a table for the three of us. The restaurant was quite busy, especially for a Wednesday night. We did have to wait a while for our meal to be served, but we didn't have a booking and as I said, the restaurant was busy. The food that we ordered was delicious. I would recommend this restaurant, but it might be wise to make a booking.
