Burlington's - Enfield

After reading a review on Trip Advisor that the pie and mash was good I decided to try it. It’s not. Really disappointing. I’ve been eating pie and mash for over 65 years and this wasn’t very good (and expensive). I much prefer Manze’s.

My husband popped in on Saturday afternoon to get 3 cod and chips and a sausage and chips. It wasn’t exactly buzzing but had to wait 10 minutes for the cod, which is fine as cooked fresh however the cod turned out to be very poor. My fish was just cooked but the batter inside was raw in places, my husband and sons fish wasn’t cooked and inedible. Very disappointed as I had heard they had improved, but obviously not.

Got a take away lunch special and it was disgusting. Raw old darl looking fish, full of fat and gristle. Batter was soggy and drenched in oil. I have been eating fish and chips all my life and this was the worst. Usually I save some for my cat, but I wouldn’t even give this to her!!!!! Won’t be spending my money in there again. Now waiting for a bellyache

The food at this restaurant is always excellent and the prices are very reasonable. Whether dining in or getting delivery, I have never had a bad meal of fish, chicken, sausage in batter, or chips.

The restaurant served overpriced, soggy, and oily fish. Some of the chips were black and the whole meal was tasteless. The man serving looked unhappy. I wouldn't have minded paying if the food had been better, but it was just gross. The chips were reminiscent of the ones they served years ago, with black bits. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
