I ordered the Tom Kha with a side of brown rice. While the tofu pieces were quite large, the soup contained only a few mushrooms and just two small pieces of tomato. I requested an 8 on the spice level, but it had no heat at all. I also asked for extra chili, but was given only one tiny container, which didn’t suffice. Furthermore, I asked for soy sauce for my rice, but the staff informed me that they don’t serve soy sauce with their Thai dishes, especially not with the Tom Kha. It was already quite salty, which I understand, but I still wanted some for my rice. The little bit provided in the tiny container was barely enough. At $12.39, I expected more than just a small bowl of soup and a side of rice. Their stinginess might negatively impact their business. Additionally, the dining room remains closed, as though the COVID situation is still a concern. They might be struggling to find staff, which could be contributing to this disappointing experience.
This is my absolute favorite Thai restaurant! I've sampled dishes from various Thai places, but none can compare to this one. Everything about it is fantastic! I always go for the chicken and rice, spring rolls, and mango sticky rice, and they are simply delicious. I highly recommend trying this restaurant at least once—it’s a perfect 100/10! The only downside is that it can be a bit on the expensive side, but it’s definitely worth it.
The spring rolls at Thai Society were enjoyable, but the pineapple chicken rice was very disappointing. The pineapples tasted like they were canned rather than fried, and the rice lacked any seasoning. I wasn't even asked about my preferred spice level. The chicken had an unpleasant rubbery texture and flavor. Unfortunately, the customer service matched the poor quality of the food. I won’t be spending time or money on this restaurant again, as the rest of the menu didn’t impress me either.
I regularly visit this restaurant, but I've encountered several disappointing experiences. Each time I order for pickup, my favorite dish—fried bananas with coconut ice cream—has frequently been unavailable, which is quite frustrating. Just yesterday, I placed an order for dinner, and the staff assured me that the fried bananas were in stock, so I ordered two along with a few other items. After driving 14 miles to pick up my order, I was disappointed to find out that the fried bananas were not available after all. This was extremely frustrating. To add insult to injury, when I got home, I realized I had been charged for two orders of fried bananas! This feels like a betrayal to loyal customers.
