Description

Tucked behind an unassuming exterior, this East Coast–style sub shop serves classic, generously portioned sandwiches with well-balanced flavors — highlighted by sweet dark squaw bread and crisp sprouts. With 30+ menu choices, friendly staff and the owner often on hand, it’s a local favorite for couples, groups and beachgoers. Thoughtful touches like splitting foot-long subs and very clean restrooms elevate the casual counter-service experience. Expect busy lines; wooden bench seating can mark bare legs and napkins are flimsy, but the hoagies remain reliably delicious.

This is the best East Coast-style sub shop for sandwiches and hoagies! Don't be fooled by its simple exterior. My favorite is the Italian sandwich—it's the perfect meal to bring along to the beach. Plus, the owner and the staff who make the sandwiches are always friendly.

That might have been the best submarine sandwich I’ve had in years. My wife and I shared the medium #16 turkey and avocado on their squaw bread. It was fantastic. Everything seemed extremely fresh. Plenty big enough for a small on the go lunch we wanted. Came to about $10 with a drink.

Big tasty sandwiches made with fresh vegetables and greens with the meats you order. Good service.

This restaurant strikes a wonderful balance of flavors in their sandwiches. They serve my favorite: dark, sweet squaw bread in roll form. When we arrived, we saw a large group of young men in line ahead of us, with a few others busy making sandwiches behind the counter. I don’t mean to sound negative, but it was a reassuring indication that these sandwiches were likely to be delicious. With more than 30 options on the menu, everyone in my group found something they loved. The bathroom was impressively clean as well. One thing to note: if you’re wearing shorts, you might end up with marks on the backs of your legs from the wooden slats on the benches. They also cut their foot-long sandwiches in half, which is a nice touch that not every place offers. Overall, there were many thoughtful details that made for a very enjoyable experience.

Classic, delicious, and served in generous portions—this is precisely how a sub should be! My only complaint is that the napkins aren't strong enough to handle the messiness of the sandwiches. Overall, I would rate it a perfect 10/10!
