Birdseye Kitchen - Encinitas
Birdseye Kitchen
Description
While this restaurant offers a vibrant atmosphere and an enticing mix of traditional Thai and Asian fusion dishes, diners have expressed mixed feelings about service speed and food consistency. Although the flavors in some dishes shine, the quality seems to have diminished recently, alongside shrinking portion sizes. However, the accommodating staff and availability of gluten-free and dairy-free options make it a commendable choice for diners with dietary restrictions. Despite some reviews of oversalted food, many patrons enjoyed their meals, especially with the appealing ocean views and a diverse drink selection available.

I appreciated the availability of gluten-free and dairy-free options, but the menu was predominantly traditional Thai cuisine, which made it feel a bit ordinary. Dietary restrictions: gluten-free and dairy-free.
It was a vibrant atmosphere on a Friday evening, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. The service was prompt. Although our food was a little oversalted, it was still a wonderful spot for an evening meal.
The food is delicious, but I've noticed the portions have shrunk. Unfortunately, the service is incredibly slow and frustrating, making it hard for me to enjoy dining in or even trusting takeout. Each time I visit, it seems they are severely understaffed, resulting in me waiting at least 30 minutes for my order to be taken, and then another 20 minutes just for drinks. The staff appears overwhelmed and chaotic, which is understandable given how busy they are, but this situation really needs to be addressed.
The green curry white not green and no bamboo, red curry was also more cream and grainy, and the Tom yum soup tasted more like dish water. Quality has gone down.
