The Banger remains a beloved roadside institution in Emsdale, resurrecting Banger Bob’s famed sausage with smoky, generously portioned links on exceptionally fresh, toasted buns. Run by Billie and Chris, the family-friendly trailer serves budget-friendly, hot-off-the-grill favorites, secret-menu treats and attentive service that keeps locals and travelers coming back. Expect short waits, handheld—and occasionally messy—comfort food; note the trailer is takeout-focused, cash/EMT preferred, and sometimes closed for private events.

“I’ll have a Banger, please.” Bob: “Excellent choice!” Although Bangers were the only item on Bob's menu, his witty remark was spot on. For decades, Banger Bob was a staple in Almaguin, and his unique sausage recipe captured my heart the first time I tasted it back in the '90s. After a few years without Bangers following his passing, I was at the supermarket in Novar when I spotted a trailer parked against the wall that read “Banger” on the side. Naturally, I had to investigate. I discovered a friendly couple, Billie and Chris, who had managed to replicate Bob's recipe and bring the Banger back to life. I was a bit skeptical at first, but after ordering one, I was pleasantly surprised to find it was spot on! They offer a few additional items on the menu, and besides the Banger, I'm particularly fond of two occasional specials: the smashed burger and Billie’s fritters. Since they took over Bob’s old trailer last year, you can get a Banger at their regular spot next to the Perry Municipal Office on Highway 11 and Fern Glen Road, even when their new trailer is out at an event. As the saying from that TV show goes: you’ve got to eat here!
