Reviews - Don's
Reviews summary
In a vibrant dining scene, this restaurant garners mixed reviews that underscore both its potential and areas for improvement. While many patrons rave about delicious food, generous portions, and delightful service, others express disappointment with service lapses, incorrect orders, and subpar dish quality. Though some diners have praised recent visits for attentive staff and a welcoming atmosphere, others recall frustrating experiences, including unresponsive service and unsatisfactory food preparations. As it stands, this establishment offers a tantalizing culinary experience for some but leaves others craving a return to its former glory. Consistency appears to be the key for future success.

What Jesse Hull dislikes about Don's:
My husband and I went to this restaurant for our anniversary tonight. We ordered the meatloaf special and steak meal, as well as fried mushrooms for an appetizer. However, when the appetizer arrived, there were no plates or utensils provided for us to use. My husband had to go get some from a nearby stand. We waited a long time for our food to arrive, and when it did, the steak was overcooked and everything was barel... View all feedback.

Atmosphere wad nice. Service was good but slow. There were only 2 tables occupied and we were one and it took 40 minutes to get our food of which mine was not even remotely warm. Couldn't eat it. Husband’s was also cold except for the chicken patty part of his chicken fried steak. This was our first visit. Might give it another try for lunch but breakfast @10:15am was very disappointing. Salad bar was fresh and tasty, I ordered the ribeye but they no longer serve, I got a NY strip and asked for medium and got well made but the flavors was delicious The BPotatoe was good, my husband ordered the catfish sandwich and said it was very good, although it was frozen fish that she was in the house bread. I'd eat here again if we ever get through. PS. The waitress was good too! Picnic table outside you want to eat outside. The accounts were 30.00 for two.
The first time here, amazing food, great service, owner / manager spoke to us, the servers were on point! In and out in less than 45 minutes. Just review I have what is not even honest is that the severs ask if they can take the stacked plates at the edge of the table when salad bowls and app plates are stacked, just don't ask them. Take her and run. Very nice atmosphere! Prices are so reasonable. I'm a dedicated customer now when I'm in the area. What we've been driving 20 minutes. Young server staff and they were still on the spot!! I'm full and happy!
What an incredible place!! This place was packed today because another restaurant made the bad choice to close on Sunday. I'm glad they did. Rhonda and Sydney did a fantastic job to take care of everyone and kept a smile on their face all the time. The chefs had a few tickets and the orders were all right out. Even the table bus was at full speed with things to keep and Steve the manager ran food and keep everything in control. The food was fabulous and a large amount and the sweet tea was in real Texas fashion. I am very impressed by this place and will definitely be back!!! Keep the great work!!!!
Great service and even better food. Extremely generous portions at a great price. The salad bar is excellent. Very recommended if you are in Emory and hungry! Our second time there after fishing Lake Fork, and we will certainly return every fishing trip!
The warm rolls were more like a communal bread and were hard on the edges. The chicken dish had a nice crust on it, but overall was quite poor. The corn appeared to be canned and not up to the standards I would expect from a country-style restaurant. I have been dining here for years and the food has always been very good. I will be taking my money elsewhere next time.
