Cool place with neat smoothie names. Vibe is chill and the food is great. They also have brunch options for anyone who wants something other than smoothies/juices/acai bowls. I recommend the chocolate goddess bowl! View all feedback.
What Cecilia M doesn't like about Bougie Smoothie:
I wanted to walk in and see what the hype was about especially because I seen pictures of the good looking smoothies online. I ordered the Poppin pineapple Smoothie it was really good and I was able to taste the pineapple. But just a little constructive criticism I think that the employees hair should be tied up in a hairnet just for health concerns and I think the straws should be wrapped up instead of out in the op... I really wanted to like this smoothie spot, but I was extremely disappointed. After passing by many times, I finally decided to give it a shot. From the outset, we waited about 5 minutes to have our order taken as there was only one employee making orders taking them. We decided to get a bad n boujee bowl and a triple threat acai bowl. The employee informed us that they ran out of granola. How does one sell acai bowls when you run out of granola? Nevertheless, we were fine forgoing the granola. We waited about 12 minutes to have our bowls made. At the last minute, the employee informed me that she had run out strawberries and could only get enough for one bowl. Finally we get our bowls, and the base is extremely frozen it seems like they batch blend them and store them for when someone orders. The least they could do is reblend it a bit to make it less hard and frozen. It was slo extremely crumbly. The acai bowl was way too sweet. Seemed like they added additional sweetener that wasn't mentioned in the ingredients list. I am thoroughly disappointed with my experience. The price is way too high for mediocre bowls save your money and go to a better acai spot.
My nail tech suggested I visit Bougie Smoothie after my appointment since I would be in the area. I usually make my own smoothies at home but wouldn't mind trying one from a black owned business. The store is kind of hidden in plain sight and if your aren't familiar with the name or aware of the location, it would not likely stand out. I stopped by and saw three beautiful women working in the location. I was greeted immediately. The store is small and intimate. I like the wall sign above the stand where you can purchase Vegan Mob hoodies. I think the crystals with air plants attached was a nice touch. The menu was laid out behind the counter and there is a fridge that houses juices and sea moss for purchase. I decided to order the Blueberry Baddie smoothie. It was made relatively quick which I was grateful for. Due to limited space, should a long line develop, there is no designated waiting area and more than two or three customers would make the space feel crowded. Luckily for me there was only one other person and myself. I love that it's still relatively hidden so there wasn't overcrowding and the prices are reasonable. My only true complaint is that although the name of the location is Bougie Smoothie it didn't really make me feel Bougie. For starters the cup I was given didn't even have the Bougie Smoothie logo it was just a generic plastic cup coupled with a plastic straw. I was most disappointed as your logo is your brand and should be seen as your biggest marketing tool. I oftentimes feature items I purchase on my story on IG and tag the business. I photographed myself with the cup but was saddened I couldn't help get the name out there more because the cups weren't branded so it wouldn't likely attract people the same as it could have. My smoothie was refreshing which most smoothies are in general. It featured sea moss and a host of berries. I found it to be sweet with a textured consistency. I imagine the sea moss is what stood out to me the most as I was able to distinguish it from the rest of the smoothie but it was still enjoyable. The atmosphere was pleasant with good music in the background. If you're in the area and would enjoy smoothies I would suggest giving this location a try. See for yourself what they have to offer.
I like the smoothie i tried. I hear they get busy but there was only like one other person ahead of me. Taste super good my mango mulatta . I also purchased a mango mint prepared drink from their mini fridge DELISH!!! Love it! Ill def return
Hubby and I was in the area since we were going to Ikea, so I told him about this new smoothie place I found through Yelp and thought we could give it a try. It's a cute little shop that would be missed if you're not paying attention. The store sign is not out in the open like all the other shops, so you really have to pay attention when looking for it. Upon arriving there were already a family who ordered and one getting his order taken. We were up next and there was only 1 person working. The person who took our order was really kind and sweet. We ordered a 12oz The Glow Up and a 16oz Mango Mulatta. The Glow Up was pretty good, it has a different taste that I can't quite put my finger on, maybe because I never had a smoothie with coconut milk before so that's why? Hubby said the Mango Mulatta was OK, as I believe he said he was hoping for a more mango taste, but enjoyed it none the less. Their bowls do look delicious and we will possibly come back to try it whenever we are in the area again.
I thought the prices were VERY fair unlike other reviews...these smoothies contain freaking seamoss that is super pricey itself. My smoothie was not overly sweet and I appreciate that! Super delicious I will be stopping by whenever we are at the movie theater :
