I can 't recommend this place highly enough. We 'd just left Norfolk and were looking for a spot to eat on the way home. Bengal brunch said my daughter from the back seat of the car having searched on the internet. I was sceptical, the name suggested curry and I 'd never had a curry for breakfast before. She read out the menu and there was a mix of traditional breakfast dishes and then some bengal/Indian dishes. We considered many other cafés following my protest but finally settled on this one. We entered what seemed like a very upmarket curry house, very clean with a modern and well thought out interior. Two of us had the desi brunch, one the eggs benedict and another the vegetarian breakfast. We had 3 bangal chai specials and a karak chai for drinks. Dear Reader, let me tell you, this was the best chai I 've tasted outside of Nepal (I 've not been to india) and I 'm a chai fan. The drink smelt beautiful as it came out and tasted even better. We were then served our meals in good time and the desi brunch was magnificent. Beautifully seasoned with just the right amount of spice for a breakfast. My initial scepticism was replaced with fervant appreciation for a great brunch, this, within the space of my first mouthful. The owner came over after and was clearly passionate about the place, the drinks and the food and you could tell that translated very well into what we 'd just eaten. I dont usually write such long and detailed reviews but this was worth it. Next time we 're in Ely this will be our go to. Thanks to the owner for a great experience and for proving me wronger than a wrong thing sitting on wrong street in wrong town. The best brunch spot in Ely by far!!! Amazing food followed by amazing service at an incredible price. Will definitely by a new regular spot.
