View all feedback.
We just wanted to have a quick lunch and thought how to go wrong with an omelette and an salat. the answer is badly wrong. incredible tasteless omelette and a Bland salad. it wasn't even cheap. just don't go. I've never written a bad report. but before only others wanted to save from having a waste.
The first time I went to this nasty tourist trap I thought it was one of the worst, most overpriced joints in Portugal, so I was disappointed when a friend asked me to meet him there a few days later. It was not to be....He showed up first at this pestilent hole and plugged his tablet into the socket under the table to recharge, whereupon he was attacked by the ranting, screaming owner who improperly addressed him in familiar speech and accused him of being drunk. When I showed up 10 minutes later and asked about my friend this lunatic began abusing me. An utter pit with no redeeming culinary value. Avoid it as you would cholera, which is probably also on the menu!
I wish we had read the reviews before going! I have given two stars as the service was good and they seemed to open specially for us and were polite, However food very poor, my chicken dish was so salty I couldn't taste the chicken...and the chicken was in 5cm chopped lumps which you had to try to get the meat off. My husband had pork which was served with a load of oily bread crumbs mixed with a lot of garlic. Likewise the pork was lumps of bone without much meat. The best bit at the end was the coffee to wash the meal down, but 8 hours later I am still thirsty! And cash only.
Tasteless food, terrible service, surely there is better in Elvas. And by the way bring cash as this people still live in the 19th century and accept no cards. Bills are produced in a torn piece of paper. Just do not go in and go...elsewhere.
Location and price were attractive, but at the end was a bad experience. Bad service, not good food. Cheap, but too cheap...
