Reminded me of hospital f... read more Attended a wedding here recently and most of the guests on our table were actually shocked at how bad it was... the food was terrible. Reminded me of hospital food. I would hate to think what they paid per a head! The finger food was so poor, the gluten free option was dried up chicken on a stick that looked & tasted 10 years old. The starter dips and carrot sticks, Really?! The risotto.... so bad. The Boiled vegetables served with mains, could they have been anymore terrible? Lifeless? Just a little bit of olive oil, salt, herbs, some garnish, something on a nice platter!! The venue itself is dated & is screaming for a makeover & so too is the food.

The venue is absolutely beautiful, there are so many great places to take wedding photos including the lovely gardens and lake. We were also extremely impressed by how helpful the staff were leading up to and on the day they made sure we kept to time and had anything we needed at all times. They were incredibly attentive and ensured that every little detail was taken care of they made the experience so easy and fun for us. The food was delicious and with very generous portions! We especially loved the pork belly. We had many guests come up to us on the night to say how much they loved the food.

We did ceremony only and ph... read more The entire team at Ballara were so easy to deal with. Even after 2 postponements they made it an easy transition and never a hassle. We did ceremony only and photos. Our wedding day was magical our guests were comfortable. The gardens were pristine and look stunning in our photos. The only thing that let us down (hence not a 5 star review) was the music was way too low for the certificate signing exit of the chapel. We are lovers of music and the songs we chose had significant meaning to us. To not have that mood set by the music really disappointed me. All in all the Chapel at Ballara allowed us to have a ceremony in a beautiful setting that was exactly what we were looking for. Thank you
