Visited this RSL on the 12th of May for a quick meal & beer. Beers were cold and tasty. Meal was EXCELLENT. My friend & I really enjoyed the share plate of Squid & Ribs. Delightful. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Caulfield RSL:
Ordered dinner, a chicken parma. Some of the family had arrived earlier and ordered the meal. One dinner was a chicken parma. Had a taste, and quickly changed my mind. The tomato paste/sauce was unusually spicy, not just for me but for others as well. The fries (not chips) are served in wire baskets which do not stay hot, ask for the fries to be put on the plate. The restaurant has a charming fireplace and the staff are relaxed, funny, and helpful. There are nice outdoor tables for dining in good weather. The Parma and salad were good, but the chips were undercooked. The chicken schnitzel had a thick crumb and was of average thickness. The dining room is lovely and it's a great place for a quiet drink, a coffee, a glass of wine, or dinner with family and friends.
I had lunch at this restaurant for the first time and absolutely loved it. The interior is very nice and the exterior looks stunning.
This RSL has everything you could ask for - fantastic staff, delicious food, and a great atmosphere in a historic 100-year-old building. It's the perfect spot to hang out with friends, enjoy some drinks, watch a game, and maybe even place a bet or two. The only thing missing is Melbourne Bitter on tap.
Brilliant ANZAC Dawn Service yet again, well supported by a wide cross-section of the community, young and old Lest We Forget
We called in on a Monday night hoping to have dinner there but the bistro is not open on Monday nights. However they had a choice of three hot snacks on offer so we opted to have those. Our chicken strips and chips and fish and chips were served a disposable container, the food was well cooked and plentiful. The staff are really friendly. The building is lovely, with many heritage features. There is a gas log fire which creates lovely ambiance.
