I was travelling to Brussels for a few days on business and was looking for places that serve vegan options. I found Tan restaurant on Happycow and went in for lunch. I was very disappointed. First, the menu was all in French. I asked if there was an English menu and the answer was no. I asked if the waitress could translate it for me and she said that doesn't have time for that and asked me what I wanted to eat. I said I was looking for something vegan. She said there is only one vegan option. I ordered it. Second problem is that there is no wireless internet access for customers. Finally, the serving was small. It was tasty, but extremely small. I paid about 20 EUR for lunch and left the restaurant hungry. Luckily, I found a street market on the nearby street and bought some fruits and pastry to satisfy my appetite. In conclusion, bad service, small servings and expensive. Not recommended.

I always go to this restaurant for lunch when I'm in the area. While it is a bit expensive, it is still reasonably priced. I really enjoy their creative and delicious dishes. However, the portions can be on the smaller side, so I would suggest avoiding it if you are extremely hungry (or just take your time eating).

I had lunch at this restaurant for the first time today. I ordered from the menu and had a juice, both of which were very tasty and satisfying. The portions were not large, but they were sufficient (we tend to overeat anyway). I was able to request an English menu and was assisted in English. I inquired about the vegetarian options and was given a clear explanation of how the ingredients were prepared. I will definitely return to this restaurant.

My son, who is a US diplomat stationed in Brussels, took us to Tan in October 2013. Three of us are vegan, while the others are not. We had a great vegan meal, while our non-vegan friends enjoyed their fish and meat dishes. Tan is a wonderful place where vegans and non-vegans can dine together.

Tan restaurant recently reopened and it’s extremely good. It’s located above a well-stocked and popular organic grocery store. The Restaurant’s vegetarian dishes are all in fact vegan. It’s all freshly made from organic ingredients. We had the tartare de fénouil and the tomato and tofu patties. The tastes and textures are beautifully combined and the sauces carefully blended. We drank their vegetable juice. While the juice was a bit pricey, the all round experience was excellent.

Pfiou, thanks for all these vegetables, all these flavors, the quality of your products. It was an explosion in the mouth. And a lot of vitamins. <3 I received my food via ubereats, everything was perfectly packed. Hate to come taste this on the spot!

The store is very well arranged, organic quality products. Staff are friendly and competent. The great strength of this store is that it closes at 11:00 it is also very convenient after the meal or before. The restaurant is welcoming, the place is quiet and the room staff is smiling and qualified. The dishes are elaborated and well seasoned. I tasted every dish we took, they were all excellent. There was a long wait to get the first dish. I recommend this establishment if you want to taste an elaborate and vegetarian cuisine. Thank you we had a nice time at your place.

Nestled on the first floor of a organic grocery store, this restaurant offers a 3-course menu, vegan, fish or meat. All three are an explosion of flavors in the mouth, a real delight

Excellent service one of the fewer best organic stores and restaurants in Brussels if not in all Belgium. Very knowledgeable and courteous staff. For late buyers; the store restaurant are open until 23h every day (behalf Sundays). Highly invested in every spec. Super recommended

Sort of hidden behind a grocery store, on the 1st floor, the food is amazing, fresh, tasty and presentation is also flawless. Highly recommended.

This place is not the average health store, the interior is more demanding than average and the atmosphere is almost a bit posh (after all, it is located in a rather trendy neighborhood called Le Chatelain But they sell the prices are not much worse than elsewhere in Brussels and it is definitely worth a visit. You have a fabulous selection of olives and olive oils, and it is one of the few places where you can find french lactofermented tofu (soyami your house made almond kiase is also worth trying.

Although the restaurant lacks coziness and feels more like a trendy coffee shop, we had a wonderful meal and will definitely be returning! The food was incredibly fresh, superbly presented, and I had one of the best salmon dishes I've ever tasted. The restaurant is situated above its own health food store. While my partner opted for a hearty lentil dish, I preferred the salmon. Our daughter chose a delectable truffle and mushroom dish with vegetables, which was fantastic. I wished they had offered a bread basket with dinner, but we did enjoy a nice little appetizer from the chef. The prices were a bit high, but we thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience.

Excellent service of one of the less best organic shops and restaurants in brüssel, if not in all Belgium. very knowledgeable and friendly staff. for late buyers; the restaurant is open until 23h daily (half Sundays). super recommended

I've found better. But tan, it's frankly good! [hidden link]

The restaurant is located on the first floor and has actually a very sober and refined decor, although one has to go through the bio grocery shop on the ground floor before getting to the stairs. The menu is not extensive, but everything is cooked to perfections. We ordered the fennel avocado tartare and the raw spinach soup as appetizers, and the Sicilian truffles and the lentil falafel as mains. Ingredients like dairy and coffee are off the menu, as they are considered toxic. They have nevertheless a good tea list. The wine we picked (also bio, from the Terrasses du Larzac) was very mineral in taste and a good combination with the food. The service is impeccable, but the restaurant does get busy and the pace can slow done. It was not a problem for us, as we were slowly enjoying our food. The prices are on the high range.
