We had dinner at Hero restaurant, a third-generation family business, and were positively surprised by the highly recommended pancakes — they truly are delicious! We tried the vegetarian pancake and the spinach pancake, and both were absolutely fantastic. The desserts were the highlight of the evening: the chocolate with mint sauce and the parfait of the day (with pistachio, turon, mascarpone, and hazelnut flavours) were all amazing. The owner spoke all the languages of the diners (we counted 4 while we were there, he said he speaks 6, which adds up), he was super knowledgeable about wines, and the food... We loved it! It was experimental and traditional somehow at the same time, they also incorporated foods from the usual customer's countries, while maintaining a local atmosphere... so unique. Been driving past Hero’s daily for the last 9 months and kept meaning to go and eat as it always seemed busy. Finally did so this evening and very glad I did! The head waiter spoke English, German, Dutch and Spanish and was really pleasant. He recommended the Salmon in puff pastry and it was delicious. The meat selection looked really good and when I saw it being served it looked even better. Highly recommend
