Elm Desi - Elmvale
Elm Desi
Description
A Wasaga Beach Indian spot is celebrated for bold, generously portioned dishes—butter chicken, samosas, tandoori and garlic naan—plus easy takeout and DoorDash delivery. The restaurant is clean, casual and offers many vegetarian options, with good value for crowds and gatherings. Experiences are mixed: seasoning, sweetness and texture can be inconsistent, occasional oily or salty plates appear, and service or promotional communication has sometimes been poor. New management and renovations suggest improvements ahead.

My wife and I order from ElmDesi every few months and have never been dissapointed. The food is always fresh and tastes great! The butter chicken is my go to meal, and the garlic naan and samosa's are very good as well. Would recommend to anyone in the area. No rating for atmosphere as we have always done take out Food: 5 Service: 5

Absolutely to die for! The food here was so flavorful, and the portion size for the price was out of this world. The place was peaceful and was so serene. Highly recommend getting the naan as a side to any of the curry dishes as it makes a great accompaniment to the masterful flavor profiles. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
We were there a month ago. 2 adults and 2 fussy kids. I was craving good Indian food while at the cottage and was not let down. I read alot of reviews before and I think some are older. Bc they seem to have made changes in response. I ordered the shrimp which didn't get a good review for the small shrimp. These were plump and plentiful. The butter chicken is our kids favourite and not only did it stand up to their favourite indian restaurant in Toronto but they got a chuckle about the description in the menu. We ordered the dinner for 4 and it was a good sized meal for 4 people. Maybe for 4 hungry adults, you may need to add an additional appetizer. The naan was on the chewy side which was super warm and tasty. Just a different style from the fluffy style you may see in others. The gulab jamun that comes w the set meal was amazing. My only down side was the atmosphere. I'm allergic to perfume and there was a VERY VERY VERY strong mens cologne wafting through the ventilation. It was either the cook or they were trying to cover the food smell. Which I don't think they should do. I want to smell the goodness as soon as I walk in. It smelled sterile except for the cologne. I had to hold mu napkin over my nose until our food arrived. It was very spacey w very few tables. So it felt cavernous and not welcoming. I would maybe carry out next time. And I will be back. The service was great. The owner who served us was attentive without hovering.
