Ace Grill - Elmvale
Ace Grill
Description
Nestled in small‑town Elmvale, this mom‑and‑pop grill delivers generous, homemade comfort food — standout poutine, tender fish, gyros and hefty burgers — with clean, casual charm and attentive curbside service. Loyal locals praise its consistent quality and value, though guests warn of rising prices, occasional missing takeout items, and limited or inconsistent dine‑in hours, so visitors should confirm opening times before making the trip.

I drove from Wasaga Beach to visit this restaurant, only to find that it is open for just six hours a day and three hours on weekends. As a culinary chef, I found these hours to be quite unusual and was disappointed by this experience. I will provide an update if I decide to return and try their fish and chips, but at this point, I'm unsure if we'll come back to this restaurant in town.
I've been visiting this restaurant for years, and it consistently offers the best food and service compared to all others. Elmvale is fortunate to have such a wonderful establishment. You get better value for your money here than at any fast food place.
The food portions and quality were fantastic and reasonably priced. I was really impressed with their commitment to maintaining COVID safety protocols at all times, which is why they are currently only offering curbside pickup. My food was ready on time, and even though I was running a few minutes late, Rita called to let me know it was ready. She also made sure we had plenty of cutlery, napkins, and other essentials. Unfortunately, the rain put a damper on our original plans for a picnic by Orr Lake, but Rita recommended a nearby Heritage Park that has a large gazebo shelter and picnic tables—it turned out to be perfect! The quality of their food, the price, the portion sizes, the taste, and their excellent service are truly admirable.
