What Patricia Peters doesn't like about A Bit Of Grace:
There doesn't seem to be much consistency in the meals. I feel like a chicken pecking at a key, hoping to get good quality. The hush puppies are always good, so that's a plus. I usually get the shrimp and grits. A couple of times, it's been delicious, but most times, the shrimp, although tasty, have been overcooked and chewy, and the grits, bland. I enjoyed a generous portion of macaroni and cheese, which was delicious, and the greens were tender and full of flavor. The chicken was perfectly crispy and had a nicely balanced blackened exterior. It was juicy and flavorful, served with the sauce on the side. The restaurant was small and quiet during my visit, making it a pleasant place to dine.
This is the best Chicken and Waffles I've had in ages! The Hush Puppies are absolutely mouthwatering. The braised Oxtail is tender and delicious, complementing the rich, garlic buttery Mac and Cheese perfectly. The broth from the Oxtail makes for an excellent dip for the fantastic Collard Greens. Don't forget to grab a piece or two of cornbread to take with you—it's definitely worth it. I give this place an 11/10 and can't wait to come back!
Searching for a new dinner spot before attending a show at the Clemens Center tonight, we were fortunate to discover this gem. My wife and I started with the Jalapeno Hushpuppies, which were pleasantly mild for an appetizer. We then shared two main courses: the fried pork chop, which was wonderfully crispy with a delicious, non-greasy breading, and the shrimp and grits, which we also thoroughly enjoyed. The sides of yams and collard greens were perfect accompaniments. The restaurant had a warm atmosphere with pleasant background music, and our meal cost only $50, including two drinks. We can’t wait for our next visit!
Amazing spicy jerked chicken and hush puppies! The chicken was barbecued which gave it great flavor and the hush puppies were a sweet corn flavor. Chris was our server and he was outgoing and personable and made us feel like we were regulars...which hopefully we will be! Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

Tonight I ordered extra cheese as I was urged to do by staff, and I couldn't taste either cheese or seasoning. In the past, I have added my own cheese and had good results. It's the same with the mac and cheese and the catfish; sometimes good, sometimes bland.
