The Anglers Of Walton - Elmbridge

DO NOT BOOK AN EVENT HERE! I have contacted The Stonegate Group by email and phone but still waiting for a response. They say they will respond within 5 working days, I've chased but still nothing so maybe this might get a response? I booked a baby shower on the 28th October, I called on the 28th September to pay the deposit to be told they had double booked. They did try to contact the person they had double booked with but couldn't get through so told me to look elsewhere in case the had to call me the next day to tell me they can't do anything. I never got a call back to confirm so had to book somewhere else, which is actually next door at The Swan. I had been in and discussed what we needed with Ricky, the events coordinator and said I had a choice between dates as they didn't have anything booked, except they did, none of the bookings had gone on the events calendar. I also exchanged emails to confirm details about food and drinks choices. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend anyone coming here, it's a beautiful location on the river but so unorganised and wasted my time which coursed unneeded stress. I'm disappointed as this is one of my local pubs down the river but I will be avoiding in the future.

This pub is fantastic. We went for a family Sunday lunch and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, especially the tripe roast. The staff were friendly, efficient, and overall very pleasant. I highly recommend this place.

My family and I went to this restaurant for a New Year's Eve lunch. Our first impression was great, with a very welcoming staff. We were seated at our table and the waitress took our order for starters. However, it was a bit strange that she came back 15 minutes later to take our main order. The food was tasty and there was plenty of it. Unfortunately, the service went downhill from there. No one checked on us to see if everything was okay, and after finishing our meal, we waited 25 minutes before having to ask someone to clear our table. They did so, but never returned to see if we wanted dessert, coffee, etc. We were disappointed as we had been looking forward to the chocolate brownie with Baileys. The food was good, but the service definitely needs improvement.

This pub is lovely for drinks with nice view of the river Thames, but unfortunately I don’t recommend it for food as takes a long time to arrive, not very fresh and and doesn’t taste very good.
