We had the Twin Tail Lobsters with corn on the cob and another side. This was THE best lobster we've had since we've been in New England. The corn was hot, sweet and delicious. We found this lobster shack by accident but now plan to stop there again before we move on to our next location. We would highly recommend this eatery!!! View all feedback.
What David Howard doesn't like about Acadia Lobster Bbq Co.:
Overpriced and overcooked! I had a lobster that was chewy, BBQ ribs that were mushy (likely overcooked and a few days old), and my potato salad contained raw, hard potatoes, along with a peculiar coleslaw. It's clear that this restaurant pre-cooks everything well in advance and simply keeps it in a warmer until it's served. I've had better food from catering services. A skilled chef would taste their dishes to preven... View all feedback.

We discovered a wonderful restaurant on our way back from MDI. After a bit of fish fatigue, we decided to go for the BBQ, and it did not disappoint! We ordered the ribs and brisket, which was so tender that it fell apart as we ate. Absolutely delicious! We also appreciated that they placed the BBQ sauce right on the table. The service was excellent, and they have a lovely outdoor area where kids can play.
While visiting in Maine, we stopped here for a lobster roll. We were specifically looking for the California style and not too many places seem to make it that way. We thought it was great and really enjoyed it. My boyfriend also got bbq and said it was good. We got corn on the cob for sides which was also tasty. This place has a great atmosphere as well. Thanks for making my first lobster roll and blueberry soda a success!
We ordered a pulled pork sandwich, a Maine lobster roll, clam chowder, and a lobster dinner. The clam chowder was thick and flavorful, but it was served in a bowl that was more like a cup. The pulled pork was delectable, accompanied by an interesting pineapple coleslaw. The lobster roll was good, but nothing particularly standout. The fries were the string type and lacked crunchiness, looking a bit sad on the plate, though they were tasty—likely due to the ample salt. The highlight of our meal was the lobster dinner: a large, steamed lobster that was perfectly cooked with no mushiness. The side of corn on the cob was sweet and crisp, and the dish came with melted butter and a small pat of butter for the corn. By the way, they also offer something called a Connecticut lobster roll, which I learned is served warm with butter instead of mayonnaise. Overall, we had a pleasant dining experience. The meal wasn't cheap—it totaled about $120 for four of us, with one person only having the clam chowder. But that seems to be the going rate around these parts. We would definitely come back.
I will start off by saying the lobster is 5 out of 5. I will follow that up with a statement that should be self evident don?t order a cheeseburger from a lobster house! The cheese burger was a 3. Service is friendly, but they are so busy that you might find it difficult getting their attention once you have your food. Bring your own water as their tap water is not always available. It was explained to me that it?s from a well and if not tested they can?t serve it. That makes sense and it?s good to see they are not cutting corners. For lobster Acadia Lobster is outstanding.
