This is one of the coolest places to stop in Texas. Kolaches are the best in Texas. The cheeseburger is sneaky good. Five Stars everything Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 View all feedback.
What Anna T dislikes about Hruska's:
The kolaches were overly sweet for my taste. I question whether the founders of Hruska would have used so many artificial ingredients in their pastries. They don't quite have the authentic flavor that you would expect from a European bakery. View all feedback.

Hruska's Store and Bakery offers a wide variety of gifts to choose from, but it's their food that really stands out. They serve an impressive selection of sandwiches and plates, but the true highlights are the pastries and sweets made fresh on-site. From cookies and cupcakes to kolaches in every imaginable flavor, you're sure to find something that satisfies your cravings. I highly recommend stopping by!
I've been stopping here on my way to and from Austin (while coming from Houston) since 2009. The kolaches remain fantastic, the bathrooms are consistently clean, and the burgers are surprisingly great! This is my favorite pit stop to grab some kolaches for family and friends, stretch my legs, and refuel!
This is the perfect spot for breakfast! They have the best snickerdoodle cookies I've ever tasted—seriously, I’m not exaggerating! The fruit kolaches are absolutely incredible. The bathrooms are clean, and the staff is very friendly. Plus, there are chickens and roosters on the property that we enjoy visiting every time we come.
Fantastic kolaches and great burgers! A family member suggested we stop at Hruska's on our way to Austin from Houston to try their kolaches. As a fan of kolaches, I was not disappointed. They offer an incredible variety, so you can definitely find something to satisfy your craving. My kids usually enjoy kolaches but opted for one of their burgers this time—a double meat bacon cheeseburger. I was really impressed by the quality and size of the burger (check out the picture). If you’re driving through and in the mood for some amazing kolaches or burgers, definitely stop by and give it a try!
I've passed by this restaurant so many times while growing up, but the one year I finally decided to stop and try it was definitely a great choice. Their Spinach and Mushroom dish is probably the best I've ever had, especially with the diced tomatoes on top! Now, I can't walk by without stopping to say hello!

I've been staying at Hruska for over six years, and I always think of it as a convenient breakfast option. It's a wonderful place.
Situated conveniently along the route from Austin to Houston, this restaurant makes for an excellent pit stop. Be sure to try their mini buckles – they're perfect for a quick snack on the go!

Wow! First of all, the staff were incredibly helpful, polite, and friendly. And that bakery—oh my goodness! I've been there a couple of times before, and I always forget how amazing everything is. The kolaches, both sweet and savory, were outstanding, featuring naturally delicious sweet fillings and unique sausage. You absolutely have to check out the bakery; they offer a wide variety of homemade jellies, jams, sauces, and local honey. Just a heads-up for your wallet! Next time, I’m definitely going to try the restaurant!
