This is a lovely historic property. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. The new owners are very kind and friendly and working hard to bring the property back to it's former glory. The restaurant was closed for renovations and breakfast time began at 8:30. Unfortunately, we had to be on the road before that. View all feedback.
This place is a hidden treasure. I really enjoyed the multiple walking trails and being able to fish in the catch and release lake. The room was beautifully decorated and took me back in time, while still offering modern amenities like the tv and mini fridge. The owners and staff were so kind and attentive. They are working on restoring the inn and tennis courts. As an avid tennis player I can’t wait to come back and enjoy tennis and pickle ball too! Whether you’re coming to vacation or just passing through you can’t find anywhere more peaceful or safe to rest your head and get out into nature. Will be coming back again soon! What a gem of a find this was! Very clean, beautifully decorated rooms with old historical charming antiques, very friendly, accommodating staff and complimentary breakfast with an array of goodies. Not to mention the storybook setting. The new owners are restoring the exterior- cant wait to see the continued changes. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great view, Great value
The place is funky, I know of no other way to describe it. I did not feel like I was staying at a 'resort ', more like someone 's old house who was letting out spare rooms. This establishment could really shine if it was fixed up a bit. The outside is very shabby, there is no ice to be had that I could find, no bottled water, you could make coffee with a Keurig but there were no lids for the cups around and no one to ask about anything unless you called. I know the new owners have only had it for a year but charging $130 for a night 's stay is a bit high for the very few amenities at least give your guests a bottle of water in the room and some way to get some ice. Also, more attention to cleaning the bathrooms, mine had dead bugs in the light fixture, mold growing in spots on the walls, every corner of the floor was black with grime. The door to the room has no safety catch on the inside and there were black fingerprints all over the white paint. The best thing about the place was the kitties running around out front! Very much enjoyed my overnight stay here. I checked in after midnight and the lady was so sweet, very neat historic old rooming house is what it looked like to me. Our room was very inviting for a great night's sleep. Didn't want to get up the next morning, but got up and went down stairs to breakfast. She had coffee and juice and cereal and breads. It's off the beaten path, but we'll worth it for a peaceful night's sleep Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5
