Small town Iowa bar offers a a piece of Americana that you love about the Midwest. In the north Iowa town of Elkader. Offers a selection of local beers and good menu selection of tasty comfort food. I had through Reuben with fries which was excellent and very filling. We come to Elkader a couple of times a year, and this will definitely be a regular stop. The food was sooo good!
A friend and I stopped today and ordered the pork dinner. It was wonderful and very filling. This is a must stop for food if your in the Elkader, Ia area. Definitely a five star place. Check it out. Very good!
We stop here every time we travel through the area. This time we called a few days ahead to request an entire banoffee pie. We've had this in Ireland and Scotland, and they make it so authentic!! The owner had it ready when we passed through and we also enjoyed an amazing lunch. The mushroom soup was fantastic!!! We've been to Ireland 5 times, and this pub captures the look, feel and friendliness of Ireland. Slainte Mhath!
Loved this place!! Their fish is great, and so are the fries!! Dietary restrictions: I noticed they had a lot of gluten free items on the menu! Not necessarily important to me but I know many people who would be happy to know this! Parking: It's all street parking but there is plenty of it! Kid-friendliness: Brought 2 kiddos with us and no one seemed bothered by their noise, which is very nice
The best place ever. And they know how to pour a proper pint of Guinness.
