Contribute FeedbackHajime in Elk River offers a mixed experience to customers. While some find the sushi to be of great quality with friendly staff and unique cocktails, others are left disappointed by the lack of authenticity, small portion sizes, and subpar meals. The inconsistency in food quality, from amazing sushi to substandard fried rice and sauceless dishes, has left some patrons hesitant to return. However, the atmosphere and variety of menu items, along with a patient and helpful staff, have earned the restaurant a loyal following among those who appreciate the fusion of Asian cuisine.
On Saturday August 17th, I had placed an order for pick up. While the food was getting prepared, I had to do some quick running around. Well, I didn't find out till I arrived to pick up my food, but I ended up accidentally leaving my wallet at FedEx just as they closed for the remainder of the weekend. I went into the restaurant to let them know what happened in hopes they could try to resell it to someone else. The manager on staff ended up paying for my food and simply asked that I come back when I can to repay her. I was having the worst day and she made my whole day turn around. I will forever be grateful for that! I did go back and pay her for the meal and left a nice tip too.
Good sushi for a decent price. Haven't had a bad experience yet.
The waitress was nice and the water was cold, thats all the good there is to say about this hajime. The fried rice was not fried, looked like white rice with some dry chicken on it. The sushi rolls were peppered??? An odd suprise of black pepper was in the rolls. The rice for the sushi was either day old or not cooked, very hard. Don't waste your time, go to the blaine Hajime
Nice, thick cuts of sashimi and fantastic rolls are complimented by tender edamame and excellent sake!
