Spanky's Gyros Iii - Elgin

I drove for a solid 40 minutes from two towns away just to enjoy a burger from this place again. It's truly the best Chicago-style food spot I've ever been to. The atmosphere, personality, and food are all fantastic. This is definitely a place you come to nourish your soul.

LOVE THIS RESTAURANT ME AND MY FAMILY!!!! We go at least once a month faithfully! The cashier is lovely! The cook is great! This atmosphere is spanky's... Everything is good you can't go wrong with any choice in here. Thank you for being open to enjoy ur great service, food, menu and price. Might I add we been going here for over 8 years now.

I have ordered from this place many times in person and thru door dash. Lately while using DoorDash to place my order Spankys Continuously keeps messing my order up. I order a hot dog and fry that their menu clearly shows comes with a fry and drink and over and over they keep only sending a hot dog. I also very clearly order it plain as I do every time and every time they put everything on it. I even specified in the “special instructions what exactly I needed. This time I called Spankys to let them know what happened and was treated so rudely. I was even lied to by the owner I believe. He told me the hot dog does not come with fries and a drink when it does. I have ordered it in person many times as well as thru DoorDash. I was a customer but no longer will be. If I want good city food I’ll drive to the city. Decent food but horrible customer service.side note: me and my husband just went up there and they indeed offer fries and a drink with their hotdog.

The food is so delicious that you'll feel like giving your mom a playful slap! The gym shoe and catfish dishes are must-tries. The owner is incredibly courteous, and honestly, all the staff are as well. If you're in Elgin, you absolutely have to stop by this place!

I highly recommend the catfish nuggets! The portion sizes are generous, often enough for two meals.
