El Faro - Elgin

Went to the El Faro on State St. Parking wasn't easy to find, but I found a map. I will post. We both ordered the flautas, which were very good. We also started with steak nachos. Single layer nachos on cut up tostada, amazing. The service was great, we were only people in the place for about 15 mins then some to-go's picked up and another table was sat. Beans, rice, escabeche, nachos, and flautas. Everything was very good. I will eat here again. Also they have pictures of most of their food on the walls. The nachos were so good, we forgot to take pics, lol.

They stepped their game up. Used to be old meat, now since the recent remodeling, the food is 100%better fresher and delicious! I have been going to this location for 42 years my whole life. I am so pleased that they upgraded their format. The chefs are still the same with atleast one new face, but let me tell you that new face made me a burrito s few days ago that I'll never forget it was a nuke Peace and love from the Macias family

This is probably my favorite place to eat. The steak and egg burrito and rancheros sauce are first rate. Their coffee is very flavorful and their waitresses are very efficient. The place is always clean and the restrooms are well maintained. I have been eating there since 1996 and the quality has never varied.

And I’ve been coming to El faro since I was a kid very disappointing in the new owners a management you can tell that the food was microwaved as well as the tortillas you can tell the meat of the food was sour almost I had like almost close to due date of rot they need to do an upgrade on everything portions of food if you’re spending $14 or more for each entrée you should get your moneys worth no Bueno The bathrooms are filthy with no toilet tissue and made you use a spoon with a small key on it like who’s gonna take your bathroom key lol employees are rude and refused to fix their mistakes

Delicious huge burritos. Nice friendly. They're not racist like the other El Faro in town. Definitely recommend this location, but the parking space sucks! Of course not her fault.
