Came here to pick up some tamales and had a great time. The tamales are absolutely to die for!! Their champurrado is also phenomenal!! If I visit LA again, I am 100% visiting this place for breakfast again. What Irma Ayala doesn't like about Café Tizón:
The coffee I enjoyed. The chicken tamal not so much. I ordered two. The tamales were cold and not to die for honestly. Both tamales were brown, the chicken was brown like it was past due. This isn’t a place I would go to eat tamales. Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $10–20 Food: 2 Recommended dishes: Tamales View all feedback.
Fantastic everywhere! A few days stayed nearby and went to lunch and breakfast! Amazing Tamale, Burritos, Breakfast etc!
The food is amazing here. The prices are excellent, this is the place for good home made Mexican foods.
My wife loves her menu from here. She said the best menu she ever had. So I make the ride for them, as it is about 15 minutes away from our house to get it for them if she wants it. You have really good fools and I love the salsa that comes with them. Pozole is also good. I love her breakfast Burrito, it has that feel cooked at home. All her food has that feel cooked at home.
$27/12pack or $2.50 Individual gluten-free Tamales. Credit and cash. 1. Uncooked/Raw and cooked versions. Cooking needs a day in advance, or sometimes they can make exceptions (order their daily fools when they open). 2. Meat, Vegetarian, Vegan, Custom. Vegetarian sweet tamales are only made for weekends. Custom tamales takes 2-3 days advantage. 3. Frozen RAW skins 2 hours to steam. Frozen COOKED tamales 45min defrost, then 10min steam. Amazing for camping! We frozen the KOKED papers. And took it to burn man this year / August. It was a hit!
Ordered a large menudo which taste real good and clean. The tamales were also a good size and real good for $2.50 each. My only complaint is the tamales were $30 a dozen which seems quite high especially when you can go up the street to Maria's Tamales and get some that are just as good for $22 a dozen.
