Yesterday myself and a group of friends visited James Street to have a tour, the first one ever. A young man Danny did the tour, he was lovely, very pleasant and informative, also he was very patient, it was all very interesting, After the tour we had afternoon tea, this was extremely good and plentiful. I can’t recommend it enough, a fabulous few hours. All the staff were lovely and friendly. Thank you James Street View all feedback.

Happy with room and facilities. In a great location lots of shopping and restaurants. Unfortunately both nights we stayed we were kept up by very loud music and screaming. Couldn't use phone to ring reception didn't work. Doors slammed all hours of night. Literally no sleep both nights probably wouldn't stay again View all feedback.
We have just enjoyed a stunning meal at Number 30. Beautiful seafood chowder, then we shared the cod seabass main dishes, very differently prepared, both delicious. We couldn’t resist the cranachan pannacotta desserts, deliciously light yummy. All in a peaceful airy room, with friendly attentive service.
Very good food and attentive service. Not sure why this place is not heaving and perpetually fully booked. Other places in Stornoway were booked solid but were not as interesting. It must be newish so it’s reputation as a restaurant hasn’t yet spread.
Not a patch on when we visited last year. Was it a bad day for the chef or has he left? The food was not great: starters were OK but the main course was a real let down. Steak was of poor quality and size and not cooked the way it was ordered, other main courses were just not to standard. The desserts were a real let down, the panna cotta was totally tasteless and the chocolate meringue with cranachan was poor (look up in google to see how to make cranachan! we will not be back
Number 30 was a fabulous place to end an amazing week cycling the Hebridean Way. The hosts couldn't have been more accommodating and the food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough!
Slightly incongruous setting within guesthouse and difficult to find independently as restaurant No. 30 on Tripadvisor Well worth a visit . There is an accomplished chef Richard at the helm and we had a lovely waiter Simon looking after us The food is superb : we tried tempura squid and tempura cauliflower as starters followed by Venison pie and Slow cooked pork belly which were excellent dishes We shared a dessert : chocolate meringue with cranachan and raspberries : delicious This is a very good place to dine in Stornoway. The equal of our favourite Harbour Kitchen A must visit if you’re in town for a few nights
