We tried the scallops and langoustines, as well as the black pudding and haddock with cider. All of the dishes were cooked perfectly, with the scallops being particularly sensational. In comparison to another restaurant we visited the night before (Eleven), Solas was definitely a step above. I highly recommend it.

My sirloin steak had gristle in the center and was served with a meager portion of Peppercorn sauce that lacked flavor and was clearly not made fresh. The scallops starter only consisted of two scallops and was overpriced for what was served. Additionally, the service was slow and disjointed, with delays in receiving our drinks and a lack of attentiveness from the staff. Overall, I was highly disappointed with the restaurant. The lack of attention to food safety, inadequate training of the staff, mediocre food quality, poor value for money, and subpar service all contribute to a negative dining experience. I hope the restaurant takes this review seriously and makes improvements, but based on my experience, I am not optimistic.
