we visited this website 2016 and enjoyed it because the owner obviously passionate about its website and facilities. we then liked it and came back in 2021. they added the herbergeblock, which is in my own five stars luxury, and the showers and kitchen facilities were also the same. we had a great lunch in her caffeine. a beautiful place. they will not be disappointed with this website we will come back View all feedback.
We had enjoyed this cafe on previous trips, but were disappointed during our latest visit. The two young women serving us seemed more interested in their phones than in the customers. This was unusual for the typically friendly locals. The food was average, but only if you have no other options.. We had hoped for the all-day breakfast advertised on the website, but were informed that it was only available on the summer menu. The lack of seafood options and only burgers was disappointing. We would have accepted this if there had been a smile and an apology, but there was none. The wait to pay was also comically long. Despite this negative experience, it was the only downside of our trip to the beautiful islands. We hope the owner reads this review and addresses the issue with the staff, as a smile and good service can make a big difference.
Stayed at the hostel next door and visited the cafe. Great people and a lovely place. The location is stunning too and a brilliant base for visiting Barra, Eriskay, and the iron age house just up the coast. Thanks for having us. Loved it.
Stopped here in cycling the Hebridean way. Good tea and coffee with a nice scone and jam. Good for cyclists as we left the bikes right outside.
We stopped here for a quick bite to eat. The cafe was clean and tidy and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Pauline ordered a Toastie and Earl Grey Tea and I ordered a Bacon and Egg Roll with Chips and a Coffee. There was not long to wait before the food and drinks came. When it did it was clear that Pauline would have to help out with the Chips, there being a big basket full. Everything was very tasty and cooked to perfection. All in all an excellent cafe and well recommended!
We had difficulty finding somewhere to have a light lunch on the island of Eriskay and were directed across the causeway to the Kilbride Cafe in South Uist. Problem solved!
