Aqua Cafe - Eildon
Aqua Cafe
Description
Nestled by Lake Eildon, this restaurant boasts stunning views and a lively atmosphere, especially during peak season. While some patrons praise the delicious food, including perfectly cooked steak and seafood specialties, others report significant issues with service and menu availability. Wait times can be lengthy, and encounters with staff may leave guests feeling unwelcome. Despite the mixed experiences, many appreciate the scenic setting and the potential for enjoyable dining. Overall, while it offers promise with its beautiful views and friendly ambiance, consistency in service and food quality appears to be a key area for improvement.

The atmosphere here is fantastic, and the service is excellent. It can get quite busy during peak season, so be prepared for a bit of a wait. However, you can relax and take in the beautiful view of the lake and houseboats. The food is delicious, and they have an impressive cocktail selection as well. Rating: Food 5/5, Service 5/5, Atmosphere 5/5.
The ribs were $44 and came with frozen vegetables, which was disappointing and tasteless. Food: 1/5, Service: 4/5, Atmosphere: 5/5.
He informed me that lunch was closed and dinner wouldn’t start until 6 PM. "We only have coffee and cakes," he added. I decided to order a coffee. However, he gestured toward the outside and said, "There are so many people waiting for coffee, it will take a long time." The unspoken message of "You are not welcome here" was clear. I left and have no intention of returning.
El Lago is a fantastic spot by the lake. The price per person is between A$20 and A$40. I would rate the food a 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 5.
I arrived at the restaurant at 2:30 PM on Saturday. From outside, I noticed dozens of customers on the deck, all of them white. Upon entering, I was struck by the large space inside. A white waiter immediately stopped me at the door, wearing a stern and suspicious expression. "What do you want?" he asked. I felt quite intimidated, as if I had intruded on a private gathering. I just wanted something to eat. I nervously squeezed my hands together. "Lunch is over. Dinner starts at 6. We only have coffee and desserts available," he stated. I decided to order a coffee. The waiter gestured toward the outside, saying, "There are so many people out there waiting for coffee. It will take a long time." The unspoken message was clear: I was not welcome here. I decided to leave and have no intention of returning.
