We wanted to have Valentines Dinner at the 1895 Grill because the main room is so lovely and romantic and we’re willing to spend $85 per person to do that. Last night we were taken to a spare brightly lit back room. We should have been told that. Not ever going
First time here and I must say this place was outstanding, blew our expectations out of the water.Mitch the Sous Chef was the best, came out to check on any allergies and answer any questions we had.The food was perfect, one of the best dinners my party has experienced in a while… definitely will be back and thanks again Mitch for making this evening special!
As guest staying at the Holly Inn we had breakfast at the 1895 Grille today and we will not ever be returning. We ask to order food vs the buffet for my wife because she has food allergies. The scrambled eggs were not hot and tasted like paste, the bacon was cold and tough, the raspberries and blackberries tasted moldy, the toast was cold and barely toasted, the butter was 48% vegetable oil and undoubtedly with soy, and the omelette I had was burned burned on the outside and runny inside. All of this for $32 a person plus tax and 18% gratuity. I would have had a way better breakfast at Waffle House. The chef running this should be embarrassed at the quality of food we were served. The servers were nice enough but immediately informed me the chef was very busy and any order would take some time. That seems a little odd since it was 6:30 AM and there were not many people in the restaurant.
