A beautiful find in Effingham, Illinois. After a long journey from Hays, Kansas, we stopped for the night. We could go from the motel to the restaurant. We went past the salad bar for soup and salad. The soup of the day was sour wort with potato and keelbasa. The salad bar was good. The soup was excellent. Our waitress was very nice. The locals were friendly. We will make Rain Tree a regular stop on I-70. View all feedback.
Love the loaded potato skins. Pairs wonderful with bucket of Guinness.
Very generous servings. Can get coupons if you stay at the hotel next door.
Allergy friendly wonderful service. Tameka (I hope I spelled her name right) is awesome! She understood exactly what precautions to take, verified ingredients to avoid triggering my allergy even closely followed up with the kitchen, to make sure I had a great safe meal. I look forward to my next visit definitely will recommend Raintree to my family.
A lovely discovery in Effingham, Illinois. After a long drive from Hays, Kansas, we decided to stop for the night. It was convenient to walk from our motel to the restaurant. We passed by the salad bar to sample the soup and salad. The soup of the day was a delicious sour wort with potatoes and kielbasa, and the salad bar was quite impressive as well. The soup was outstanding. Our waitress was friendly, and the locals were welcoming. We plan to make Rain Tree a regular stop on our travels along I-70.
Delicious food and excellent service in a cozy bar atmosphere. This is a favorite stop whenever I'm in the area. The Wall-Auged Sandwich and the fries were fantastic!
