Niemerg's Steakhouse - Effingham

It just didnt seem the same as always, Our Server was to busy talking to an Older Man across from Our table a lot, the salad plates had water dripping off them

On a positive note, the salad was good and had a decent portion size. The steak was seasoned well and cooked to the correct temperature, but it wasn’t scored or seared properly, making it look somewhat unappetizing. The fat on the steak was too soft to eat. However, the main portion was quite good and filling for the price. The banana pie with meringue topping was delicious, and I’d definitely return to try more of their options to see which I like best. I'm also eager to try their caramel milkshake. I took two cookies to go, and they were absolutely worth the price—such a delightful treat!

Drive 4 hours for a steak dinner. Best I have ever had anywhere. I will be back soon. Will bring friends.

I always enjoy dining here when I'm in town. The service is excellent, and the food is fantastic for both breakfast and lunch.

I found two reasons for wanting to live in Effingham. Niemerg's restaurant and Darren Bailey, who frequents the establishment. The food was fantastic! The salad bar had EVERYTHING that I like on a salad. The pies remind me of the old Baker's Square that use to be in Chicago area. (I escaped from Chicago years ago, so I don't know if they still exist. The desk manager at the Motel 6 told us that Niemerg's was the best place for us to visit. The motel is right behind Niemerg's and on a -6 degree night we were leery, but it was well worth the short walk.
