We live in the neighborhood and often stop in to the xwrecks for a beer, it is a nice little neighborhood bar, reasonable prices, decent food, good specials and great service. Is lacking a little in the atmosphere but you can't have everything View all feedback.

Stopped in for lunch twice over the past two weeks. The lunch Asian buffet is small, however the food is always fresh (as it is replaced frequently with smaller portions.) The buffet was very reasonably priced, and the selection of entrees was good. Ordered off the alacarte menu the second time. The Asian dishes were very good, and again, the pricing was reasonable. Both times, the service was friendly and efficient,... View all feedback.
Our new cook has built a great reputation for his food, with the best omelettes in town and delicious homemade soups. The owner's wife also makes her homemade dumplings, spring rolls, and everyone's favorite deep fried wontons on the weekends - customers are loving her. Despite some negative reviews from past employees who have left, I believe that these review sites should be used to support local businesses and help them succeed in our community. Edmonton is a city of hardworking, everyday people, and Xwrecks embodies that spirit with its cold beer, great service, homemade cooking, and laughter every night. I love you, Edmonton, and Xwrecks truly represents what this city is all about.

In the Capilano area of Edmonton AB, there are plenty of dining options. some better than others, but we decided to take a chance on XWrecks.Access to the restaurant is not easy at the best of times, as it is off a busy street, but it seemed to offer a variety of options so we took the advice of locals and gave it a chance.Other reviewers referred to the great food which I suspect might be the Chinese food buffet, however, there was nothing left but the steam tables when we arrived about 1:30pm. The menu was not extensive, but the regular cheese burgers, steak sandwiches, grilled cheese, were sufficient for our group. I was impressed that the kitchen could substitute a lettuce wrap for the bun on my burger. \it was good, but nothing special. It lacked any kind of significance. Which was the general opinion I had of everyone's meal, though no one complained, and all seemed satisfied. We were the only people eating at the time, though the bar did a healthy business with a crowd that seemed to be regulars. The server/bartender did a wonderful job of keeping both the bar and the restaurant well served and entertained.I'm not sure I would return, as there are so many decent places to eat in this largely residential / shopping area, but not because there was too much wrong with our meal......just because there was nothing spectacular about it. Maybe the Chinese food buffet at lunch is what we missed, but their menu certainly didn't encourage me to return.
What a dive, honestly, the service was terrible and the food worse. Too bad as it's in location range to be a frequent hang out. Once was more than enough and we won't be back. Hopefully they can shape things up and we may give it another try but we have better options close by so won't be soon.
