Looks like I may have found my new Thai restaurant. I had the Hells beef even though they said it was really hot. Bah! What do they know what I can handle. Sure it was hot, but I would rate it a 6/7, not an 11 as what our waitress said. Even though it had a good flavour, it lacked substance. Just meat. It needed some veggies and/or rice. So I ordered a steamed rice. Everyone else at the table had a very good looking... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Viphalay Laos and Thai Restaurant:
We live nearby and ordered for pickup, we were told 20 minutes. We arrived in 15 to find our order sitting on a table in a plastic bag (bye hopes of fresh and crunchy). We live only a few minutes, but the food was lukewarm. It wasn't really peeled, and it was rubbery. It tasted like the last dinner in the microwave heated. Insult to injury, the feathers were barely fried, they were white. Very inconspicuous way to bu... View all feedback.
Our family personally believes that Noi Thai is the best restaurant in the city! The portions are very generous and well worth it. We ordered the red wine shrimp (incredible!), pad thai, green curry, 2 large coconut rice (huge portions, one order would have been enough but the leftovers are great), drunken noodles, and the roti rolls (absolutely delicious, we barely had room in our stomachs to eat them but they were so tasty!). We used to order from other popular Thai restaurants, but their portions were smaller and prices higher, so we are thrilled to have found Noi. The meat was lean, fresh, and tender. Our family, with big appetites for good food, thanks you for the most delicious dinner we've had in a while! We have plenty of leftovers for another night. The food was superb, tasty, and highly recommended. When my husband picked up the food, he was greeted by very friendly people. Despite ordering at 8 pm, the food was ready for pick up in just 30 minutes. We give Noi Thai a 10/10 rating!
The food at this restaurant was delicious. However, the price per portion could be more budget-friendly, especially for a party of 4. While the dishes we ordered were sufficient, don't expect to have leftovers like at other restaurants. The Panang curry was tasty, but I would have preferred more variety in the vegetables. The Pad Thai was decent, but I felt it was missing something, possibly more tamarind flavor or umami. The Thai samosas were a standout dish. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but we were able to find a spot. We visited on a Saturday at 5 pm, and I could see parking being an issue at other times. Overall, if you're in the area and craving Thai food, give this place a try.
I love the friendly owner and their family. The food is delicious and affordable! The stir fries and curry are especially tasty. I will continue to support them!
Amazing place small but delicious everyone should come here the red curry is delicious!
The smells coming out of the kitchen makes your mouth water. We tried there green curry chicken, basil beef and coconut rice. One of the best Thai restaurants I have tried in Edmonton.
