This is a standard Tokyo Express. The food is up to their standard and the place is tidy. I find myself there every once in a while just because I am in the area and the food they serve is reasonable for fast food. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Tokyo Express:
If I could, I would give this restaurant a zero-star rating. The rice was as hard as a rock and everything else was tasteless except for the soy sauce. I do not recommend it. View all feedback.
Would rate 0. Absolutely disgusting rice both for the sushi and for the bento box. Cheap, horribly over cooked rice to the point its literally rice paste. The sushi was stone cold, which tells me they don't make it to order and serve pre-made portions. Made with the same over cooked rice paste that's packed so tight they're 100% using some cheap dollar store sushi mold. I've had pre-packed sushi from a grocery store that was infinitely better. The teriyaki chicken and tempura was ok but being served rice this disgusting is inexcusable for a Japanese restaurant.
I love this location, especially in the evening as they have take out until 3am!! The staff is friendly, food comes quick and fresh, and the drive thru is quick.Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie itemsKid-friendliness: Great dining room
Unfortunately, our order was packaged very poorly by the restaurant. The udon miso was underneath everything and destroyed, and the rest of our meal was on its side.I'm sure they were trying to squish everything into one of the new reusable bags instead of providing us with two. They also forgot to add the shrimp and crab to the udon miso.We will not be ordering from this restaurant again. This has been a very expensive and disappointing experience.
I had chicken noodles late last night it was spot on 10/10. Even tho the guys were ramped up with orders joey was jamming with music and he did deliver. Definitely coming back for sure.
While I don't claim to be an expert on Japanese cuisine, I have cooked and tried many Japanese dishes in my lifetime. As a chef, I have made a variety of dishes in my quest to learn. My standards may not be very high, but I can distinguish between good and bad Japanese food. Unfortunately, my experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The rice was overcooked and gummy, the chicken was tough and poorly cut, and the sauces lacked flavor. The sushi might have been decent if the rice had been cooked properly. Despite my initial excitement about a late-night Japanese restaurant near my home, I am hesitant to return due to the subpar quality of the food on my visits. I did enjoy the tempura, so that might be worth trying if you do decide to visit.
