Don't know how I missed this restaurant/coffee shop on the corner of 109 St/76 Ave. Anyway, decided to go there to check it out. Cons: parking currently horrible due to roads being ripped up around it. Pros: comfortable, great atmosphere, lovely home made food. Staff/proprietors lovely! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Woodrack Cafe:
I came to Woodrack Cafe yesterday for lunch. I kept for breakfast, latte and a croissant, often on the 109. So I was optimistic. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The late was, as always excellent, great coffee. The sandwich, tomatoes, spinach, gouda... on marble rye on the other side was just OK. Chocolate woopie pie was great. Drip coffee was tasty. Parking was hard to find but it was worth it to pay $3 per hour to come in for the nice vibe.
I love the cozy cabin vibe. You're paying for quality, but might find the prices hard to swallow if you're used to Tim Hortons.
I visited this cafe for the first time when my band was playing one of their live music evenings. It is not a very large cafe especially once a band is squeezed in, however, it feels cosy rather than cramped. The decor is reminiscent of living room leftovers from either a hipster or their late grandmother with artsy wall fixtures and mismatched chairs laced throughout. Their beverage and food selection is typical for any modern independent cafe. Overall a pretty nice place for a chill evening out, grabbing a drink, or meeting friends.
I can't get enough of this place. Everything is so delicious. I love the homemade scones, soups and my new favourite comfort food is peanut butter rice crispies. The ambience, decor, staff are all fabulous. One big drawback for me is the parking. Don't park at the back of the building or you risk being towed. It is street parking or sometimes the church across street if they are not having services will allow the restaurant patrons to use their lot.
