What User doesn't like about The Harvest Room:
The over all management and location of the hotel is excellent but the food was tasteless. One morning we went for breakfast. we were fairly early and there were only a few other people there.by the time we received our food a long time had passed, the place was very full and almost everyone had their food other than us. The waitress came over a few times and said our food was on its way with no other explanation. Not... View all feedback.
I had the pleasure of supper in this beautiful restaurant and it's all an experience, the food is simply delicious, the view, on the terrace is superb and the service is impeccable. only a tiny shadow is on the table and it is a very personal choice. The majority of meats are cooked in vacuum and so it is impossible to have very bleeding, as I love them. On the other hand, my beef net was tender and succulent.
We had dinner here on the 24th of June. We were seated close to a window but with one of our backs to the window. We asked to be seated at a table next which had been set for two and would have allowed us to both look out the window. We were told that the table was reserved. Needless to say when we left at just before 10pm it was still empty. The lobster chowder when poured into the bowl was lumpy, however the main disaster was the rack of lamb which we both had. The fat was still white it had not been rendered properly and the meat itself was raw. The risotto on one plate was also lumpy, clumpy and sticky. It was an inedible plate for both us us. We did complain about our meals and to his credit the maitre D' did comp our whole meal and provided us with ice wine for my wife a and a 30 year old port for myself which were both complimentary. However the meal was a very big disappointment, the chef needs to pay more attention to items leaving the kitchen. Based on our experience we would not recommend this restaurant but would thank the maitre D' for admitting the mistakes.
The view from the Patio overlooking the river valley was beautiful! The food was fairly good, although the Coffee (Americano) was not good! I ended up just having their regular brewed coffee which was ok.We had a pleasant server.
Service was excellent here. There was only one waiter on, the restaurant was not busy but he was attentive and never let my water glass go empty.I also appreciated that we received an Amuse Bouche, my partner got 2 oysters, as I am a veggie, they even brought out a small veggie amuse bouche for me, which was massively appreciated. However the decor was disappointing. I was expecting grand but what we had was dated. I also judge a place heavily by the cleanliness of the toilets and I found the toilets to be needing attention; decor wise and cleanliness wise. The appetizer was mediocre, granted I ordered the tomato burrata salad, but it was very plain, not what I would expect, lacking vinaigrette so relatively bland.Mains were really good. We actually both ordered vegetarian mains, one the gnocci and one the chickpea cake. Portions were generous and both were tasty, and didn't feel like an afterthought as some veggie meals do at restaurants. Desert was mediocre again, I ordered the panacotta, it came in a glass which I feel is a bit of a cop out, I feel it should stand alone on the plate. My BF had the pavlova which he also thought was unremarkable. Coffee also disappointing, poured out of a large jug that I would usually associate with mass catering events, not an intimate restaurant.I am by no means fussy, it just wasn't up to the standard I was expecting for the $150 price tag. This was for 1 glass of wine, 1 appetizer, 2 mains and 2 deserts. You can pay the same at Hardware Grill down the road and have a much fancier experience.
