Contribute FeedbackThe Swiss Chalet restaurant located at Manning offers a Quarter Chicken Dinner that is relatively fresh and not dry, with an okay taste. However, the Thanksgiving Promo did not meet expectations, with small portions and overcooked baked potato. The service was lacking, with a waitress who seemed disinterested and multiple issues with cutlery and order delivery. One customer even had to return due to missing items in their takeout order. Despite these negative experiences, other diners found the staff to be fantastic and attentive, with delicious meals and friendly service. The owner even came to ensure a positive dining experience. The half chicken combo with fries is recommended as a good value option, although customer service in resolving complaints may be lacking. Overall, the Swiss Chalet Manning location offers a satisfying Canadian dining experience, with room for improvement in certain aspects such as taste consistency and customer service resolution.
This Swiss Chalet has been our go-to place for a long time. Keng served us with her usual charm and efficiency. Canadian cuisine at it’s best! Delicious rotisserie chicken, actual home made fries, a hot fresh roll and the tasty dipping sauce. Very satisfying experience! Will be back. Soon!
My son and I went today around 3:30 p.m. on June 7, 2023. I had the chicken and Ribfest special. The ribs was mostly fat and a lot of sauce. Not much meat on the ribs. Seems like when ever I order something and I have a baked potato skin is so tough that you need a steak knife to cut it. Had to ask for a steak knife as she had forgot. Someone has to do something about the older Chinese lady. I first wanted to order the Chicken pot pie and she told me I would not like it. She told me I should have the chicken on the bun that I have had before cause there is more chicken on it. How the hell can a waitress make a comment like that to me even tho we have been there often. I asked her, You mean I can 't even order what I want? She said, No, but you won 't like the chicken pot pie before and we liked it. I always get a side of coleslaw and she told us there was NO coleslaw. On the Special there is coleslaw so I didn 't get everything that was supposed to have been on the Special. Son ordered the poutine and she came back and said that he could have the appetizer only as there is not any meal size poutine like he has had quite a few times. Another experience we had with this waitress was when my son wanted to order a hamburger. He was told by her, Don 't order the hamburger cause it isn 't good and so tiny for what you pay for it. Was also told to come on Sunday as they give you more food on your order. These cooks don 't give you much. She is also the waitress that a TIP was added to my bill and I caught it and told her it was up to me if I wanted to tip her. So take it off. I have never ever experienced this kind of service from ANY restaurant. There are only one or two tables that are there when we go and she is ALWAYS the waitress there to serve us. She also can be rude sometime and the look on her face what we can see and the tone of her voice. I also have not been to a restaurant that the bill and machine is put on our table even when we haven 't finished eating. Like we were being rushed. We have even driven to Sherwood Park as the service is 100% better and we don 't have to deal with her. The Swiss Chalet I am referring to is the one that is on 137 Avenue and 50th Street. I WAS going to go ONE more time for chicken pot pie and if she did what always does to me, I was going to say, Forget about the order- cancel it as we are going to go to Sherwood Park as I get what I want to order. Then I was going to tell the cook You have lost our business all because of your waitress, so you can tell your boss to check my review!!
We went to celebrate an anniversary with our childre, it was around 0630 PM on December 12, 2022. The place was one side empty and the second side is little bit more than half full. I am diabetic and cannot eat every thing, so I asked for caesar salad ; she say we do not have salad I was upset but I compromised and ask for veggie Burger again we do not have a; the she tried to feed me what she wont and have; by any thing not from animal on me I am not vegan nor vegetarian. It was not late on the day (there supply finished, or they have allot of customer to expose there supply. PS: it is nit the 1st time I have been to swiss chalet
They're website menu doesn't have prices. What's the point of that? Wanted to go somewhere for Father's Day and wanted to know if it was in our budget
My husband and I went for lunch on a Wednesday. There were quite a few customers enjoying their meal. The 1/4 chicken dinner was delicious. Home made fries (not frozen), a fresh Italian style roll, and Swiss Chalet dipping sauce., and of course, the rotisserie chicken. Good Canadian food at it’s best! Not too spicy, with lots of flavour. Very satisfying. And did I mention the friendly service? The owner even came to our table to ensure we were well taken care of. Halibut is also excellent.!
