Montana's Restaurant - Edmonton

Big waste of money is what I could call this night.

Not bad my kid loved her all you can eat ribs and I liked my chicken and waffles.

We always went to Montana's for steak but apparently they changed about 6 months ago. First, 3 waitresses 4 tables occupied but the service was like it was a packed house. When I asked about the steak she said they took most of them off the menu and that they are well known for their ribs. Well we ordered the only steak they had and a rack of ribs. All I can say about the ribs is "go to Tony Roma's". They don't know how to cook a steak either, asked for medium and got a very **** medium rare, almost rare. Was not impressed at all and I can say they lost my business.

As a family, we go to many restaurants and only go back to those which we felt we had great value for our food experience, as you can tell by the amount of reviews I do. In previous visits, we had complained about the temperature of meals, and the time it takes to get to the table ( which probably goes hand in hand ). Giving Montana's a THIRD and final try, we decided to return. At the time of the order, they took the drink order, and then did not return with the drinks for 15 minutes. The server said "he got busy" and walked away. He didn't return for our food order for about another 10 minutes.I know that time seems longer when you are anticipating your order to be taken, but it really was 10 minutes. We placed our order, and mentioned that in the past the food was cool. He said he would be "on top of it". We did not order anything special, other than ribs and a sandwich, and the order took about 20 minutes, and when it came , guess what? Cold food again.When I mentioned that , the server took the orders back and re-heated them? Frustrated, we ate and did not tip. And the Hostess asked us as we were leaving how was the dinner, I mentioned the scenario , and she just gave a perplexed look and said sorry. No other offer was made to listen to our situation. So we won't be back. There are a lot of BBQ houses opening in Edmonton, so we will move on.

I organized a get together and chose this location for it. The food was all great. We enjoyed the atmosphere and didn't have to worry about noise. The server we had was super nice and attentive. While she did drop a dish which broke and cut my foot, she felt so bad about it and made sure I was okay. The injury was minor and I know accidents happen so I was not upset at all. I felt she handled the situation well. Will definitely go back to this location!
